Barton: 'No plans for Rangers exit in January'

Rangers midfielder Joey Barton has suggested that he will not be leaving Ibrox in January.

After an altercation with teammate Andy Halliday, Barton has been handed a three-week suspension by the Glasgow giants, and the punishment has raised doubts as to whether the 34-year-old will remain at the club beyond the next transfer window.

However, in a reply to a user on Twitter, Barton said: "Not going anywhere, happy to be judged after the season. Played 8 games. Had to use some for fitness as had no pre season!"

Barton has also come in for criticism from former Rangers striker Kris Boyd, who labelled his switch to the Scottish Premiership outfit a "PR stunt".
