Rangers player Adam arrested

Rangers reserve goalkeeper Grant Adam has been arrested and charged by the police over a 'sectarian incident'.

The 20-year-old brother of Liverpool midfielder Charlie Adam was involved in an incident in Glasgow city centre in the early hours of Sunday morning.

A Rangers spokesman told STV: "We are aware the player was arrested and will investigate the matter fully before making any further comment."

Adam is expected to appear in court on Monday charged with a sectarian aggravated breach of the peace.

The young stopper has national honours at under-16, 17, and 19 levels for Scotland.
