Report: QPR approach free agent Khumalo

Chris Ramsey has approached South African international defender Bongani Khumalo about a move to Queens Park Rangers, according to reports.

The 28-year-old is a free agent following his release from Tottenham Hotspur this summer.

The Hoops have offered the player a deal, but face competition for his signature from an unnamed Major League Soccer club, reports AfricanFootball.com.

Khumalo, who has 42 caps for his country, joined Spurs in 2011, but never made a first-team appearance for the club.

Instead he spent time on loan with Preston North End, Reading, PAOK, Doncaster Rovers and, most recently, Colchester United.
