QPR boss Harry Redknapp "not involved" in Charlie Austin contract talks

Redknapp "not involved" in Austin talks

Queens Park Rangers manager Harry Redknapp has admitted that he is in the dark regarding Charlie Austin's contract situation.

The 25-year-old comes to the end of his current terms in 18 months' time and it is believed that discussions have begun between the two parties regarding a fresh deal.

However, reports have claimed that Austin has told the club that he will not make a decision on his future until the summer.

"I don't get involved in contract talks," Redknapp told reporters. "I couldn't tell you anything about that. I don't know what he earns, but I know he is happy here."

Today, Austin was named Premier League Player of the Month for December after scoring five goals in six games.
