Joey Barton is understood to be having a medical at Marseille ahead of a proposed move from Queens Park Rangers.
The 29-year-old claimed on Tuesday that QPR were prepared to stop any deal going through.
However, the midfielder tweeted on Wednesday morning that he was on his way to France to negotiate a transfer.
Barton is expected to join the Ligue 1 side on a season-long loan.
