Queens Park Rangers held by Southend

Queens Park Rangers were held to a goalless draw with Southend United at Roots Hall on Wednesday evening.

Barry Coor had a decent opening for the home side early on, but R's stopper Brian Murphy was equal to the effort.

Murphy again thwarted Corr's header before Connor Clifford's long-range effort skimmed the top of the cross bar moments after Matt Phillips went close with a similar effort.

A whole host of substitutions diluted the quality of the game in the second half, with neither side troubling either goalkeeper after the restart.
