Unimaginative QPR frustrate Redknapp

Queens Park Rangers manager Harry Redknapp has expressed his frustration at the lack of scoring opportunities created by his side during this afternoon's 1-0 defeat at London rivals Charlton Athletic.

The Hoops, who have now lost three games in a row, had possession of the ball for 64% of their match at The Valley, but they failed to record a single shot on target.

Their profligacy was punished in stoppage time when Charlton midfielder Johnnie Jackson headed home from close range to send QPR home without a single point.

"We dominated the game possession wise and didn't look in any trouble," Redknapp told reporters. "We don't create enough opportunities for the amount of play we have – and that was the story again today.

"We had a great chance to go in front with 2 or 3 minutes to go through Ravel Morrison, but he saw the ball too late.

"However, I thought Morrison was excellent today on an almost-impossible pitch."

QPR are now seven points below Burnley, who occupy the second automatic promotion place in the Championship table.
