Harry Redknapp tips Queens Park Rangers to stay up

Harry Redknapp backs Queens Park Rangers for Premier League survival just one day after he stepped down as the club's manager.

Harry Redknapp has backed Queens Park Rangers to avoid relegation after resigning from his role as manager on Tuesday.

Redknapp stepped down from his post at Loftus Road after citing an immediate need for knee surgery, and despite the R's languishing inside the Premier League's drop zone, the ex-manager thinks that the squad are good enough to stay in the division.

He told talkSPORT: "I do [think they will stay up]. There are enough good players there to keep the club in the division.

"It's so close down there. QPR's home form is good, and they've got the teams in the bottom half to play away.

"They've got as a good a chance as any of the teams down there. There are eight teams in the relegation scrap, and one win takes you up three or four places. It's very tight."

QPR chairman Tony Fernandes has reportedly drawn up a three-man shortlist for who he wants to succeed Redknapp.
