Queens Park Rangers boss Chris Ramsey pays tribute to the club's supporters

Queens Park Rangers manager Chris Ramsey heaps praise on the club's supporters following their win over Newcastle United.

Queens Park Rangers boss Chris Ramsey has paid tribute to the club's supporters following their 2-1 win against Newcastle United in the Premier League.

The Hoops caretaker boss said that he hopes the victory will convince the fans that the team is capable of bouncing back from their relegation to the Championship.

"The fans have been absolutely fantastic all season. It's important we got those two goals. It's gets us back to thinking good things in the summer," BBC Sport quotes him as saying.

"There was plenty of effort in the first half, but lacked that bit of quality. Leroy Fer has got that in his locker - he brings a little bit of extra flavour to our team.

"I think fans can see we will try our best and that we will try to put the club on an even footing. It's not up to me who stays and who doesn't stay."

Emmanuel Riviere had put Newcastle in front in the first half, but goals from Matty Phillips and Fer in the second period secured a rare win for QPR.
