Hughes: 'Park Ji-Sung arrival proved me right'

Mark Hughes believes that Queen Park Rangers' success in tempting Park Ji-Sung to the club has proved his decision to become the club's manager in January to be the right one.

The former South Korean international signed a two-year contract with the R's following a seven-year stint with Manchester United earlier today.

Discussing the ability of his latest addition, Hughes said that he is expecting the midfielder to have a positive impact on his squad.

"On a football level [Park] is somebody that I have admired from afar for many, many years. He has worn the red shirt of Manchester United in a very distinguished way," Hughes told a press conference.

"He's got great energy and great technical ability. He is going to bring so much to the team and I cannot wait to start working with him. He is a very motivated guy and one that feels that there is success ahead of him, as we all do. It is a very exciting time for Ji and QPR.

"Talk is cheap but actions speak louder. Occasions like this reassure me that the decision I made to come to Queens Park Rangers was correct."

QPR have reportedly paid United an initial £2m for the 31-year-old.
