Glenn Hoddle, Joe Jordan leave roles as first-team coaches at Queens Park Rangers

Glenn Hoddle and Joe Jordan leave their roles as first-team coaches at Queens Park Rangers, hours after the resignation of manager Harry Rednapp.

Glenn Hoddle and Joe Jordan have reportedly left their roles as first-team coaches at Queens Park Rangers, on the same day Harry Redknapp resigned as manager of the Premier League strugglers.

Hoddle joined Rangers in August after their promotion to the top flight, but has left his post with the team in the relegation zone. Jordan had worked with Redknapp at QPR since 2012.

Redknapp resigned citing the need to undergo surgery, which he said would limit his ability to manage the team.

In a statement, former England manager Hoddle said: "I am a bit shocked and surprised, to tell you the truth. We all know football is a results-orientated business but I always felt that given a few more games, Harry could have turned it around down there at the bottom.

"It would have only taken a couple of good results to have achieved that as it is very tight down there.

"But that's football for you. I have enjoyed coming back into coaching and I thanked Harry for giving me that opportunity to tip my toe back into the coaching arena.

"I have enjoyed every minute. I wished him all the best and I do sincerely hope QPR can stay up. I would love the players to turn it around as I have enjoyed working with them – and hope I have improved them."

The club sit 19th in the table.
