Glenn Hoddle rules out move to Newcastle United

Glenn Hoddle insists that he is happy in his coaching role at Queens Park Rangers following reports that he could become Newcastle United's next manager.

Glenn Hoddle has insisted that he is happy to stay at Queens Park Rangers following reports linking him with the vacant position at Newcastle United.

The former England manager was believed to be one of the leading candidates to replace Alan Pardew at St James' Park, but he is keen to continue working alongside Harry Redknapp in his role as first-team coach with QPR.

"There has been a lot of speculation. The media have been chasing me for a reaction to being heavily linked to the vacant Newcastle job," Hoddle told zapsportz.com.

"All I am prepared to say is that I'm really enjoying the challenge of trying to keep QPR up this season.

"Although I have never shut the door on management I'm happy doing what I'm doing now with QPR."

Hoddle has not managed a team since his two-year spell with Wolverhampton Wanderers came to an end in 2006.
