Hasselbaink: 'We'll play exciting football'

New Queens Park Rangers manager Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink has claimed that he intends to get his team playing "exciting" football under his regime.

The former Chelsea footballer was appointed as Chris Ramsey's successor on Friday, ending a year-long spell at Burton Albion.

"I like to get to know the players and get that honesty from them - that's very important," Hasselbaink said in a press conference. "It's a squad that excites me. We need to work together and trust each other. There's work to be done.

"We know the fans want to see a successful team play an exciting kind of football. That's what we have to try to bring."

QPR, who were relegated from the Premier League last season, are 12th in the Championship table after 19 games.
