Report: Tony Fernandes draws up three-man shortlist for Queens Park Rangers job

Fernandes 'draws up three-man shortlist'

Queens Park Rangers chairman Tony Fernandes has identified three possible targets as Harry Redknapp's replacement at Loftus Road, according to reports.

Fernandes is understood to be keen on interviewing Tim Sherwood, Paul Clement and Steve McClaren over the post, which was left vacant by Redknapp's shock departure yesterday afternoon.

Sherwood is the bookmakers' favourite to succeed the veteran manager, having been out of work since leaving Tottenham Hotspur in May 2014.

However, current Real Madrid assistant manager Clement has also caught the eye of Fernandes, while Derby County boss McClaren is also on the wishlist, according to the The Telegraph.

It is uncertain whether Clement would be willing to leave his post at the European champions, while McClaren recently refuted speculation linking him with a move to Newcastle United as he continues to focus on the Rams' promotion bid.

QPR currently sit 19th in the Premier League table, one point from safety ahead of their match against Southampton on Saturday.
