Adel Taarabt 'demands pay rise'

Queens Park Rangers frontman Adel Taarabt has reportedly demanded a pay rise after being stripped of the captaincy on Monday.

The 22-year-old was forced to hand over the captaincy to new signing Joey Barton, who made his debut for Rangers in their 0-0 draw with Newcastle at Loftus Road.

After being demoted from captain, the Morocco international has requested a new contract with an increase in wages, according to the Daily Mail.

Meanwhile, controversial details of Barton’s free transfer to QPR have come to light suggesting that over £2m changed hands during the deal.
