Paris Saint-Germain president hails Laurent Blanc influence

Nasser Al-Khelaifi says that Laurent Blanc has got Paris Saint-Germain playing football this season.

Paris Saint-Germain president Nasser Al-Khelaifi has paid tribute to manager Laurent Blanc by insisting that he has got the side playing better football.

The Ligue 1 champions have gotten off to a slow start so far this season, having drawn their opening two matches before beating Nantes on Sunday.

Despite picking up just five points out of a possible nine, Al-Khelaifi is delighted with Blanc's start at the Parc des Princes.

"It's better than last season when we had just three points after three games," Al-Khelaifi told reporters. "Carlo [Ancelotti] did a great job here. But today, even if there are a lot of things to improve, we're playing better than last season. And that's very important in my eyes.

"Recruiting him was an excellent decision. His work is even better than what we had expected."

Blanc replaced Ancelotti as the club's manager during the summer.
