Laurent Blanc: Nice win "very important"

Paris Saint-Germain head coach Laurent Blanc says that the three points against Nice are more important than the performance.

Paris Saint-Germain head coach Laurent Blanc has insisted that the narrow 1-0 win over Nice on Friday night could prove vital in the Ligue 1 title race this season.

The capital side were not at their best and needed an own goal in order to win, but Blanc believes that the most important thing at this stage of the season is the three points.

"This is a very important victory for the championship," Ligue1.com quotes him as saying. "There were a lot of good things in this match, but we also wasted a lot of chances.

"The problem is we don't move fast enough in attack. We have to be a lot more ruthless in the opposition penalty box. We need to fix that before Wednesday's Champions League match against Chelsea.

"We came here looking for the result, and while we didn't play well, we got the job done. The matches before a Champions League game are always difficult so it's a good thing that we got the three points [last night]."

Monaco lost on Saturday afternoon, which leaves PSG 13 points clear at the top of the table.
