Paris Saint-Germain team news: Injury, suspension list vs. Lens

PSG injury, suspension list vs. Lens

Paris Saint-Germain will aim to wrap up the Ligue 1 title with four games to spare when Lens pay a visit to the Parc des Princes on Saturday evening.

Mauricio Pochettino's side inched closer towards the title with a 3-0 midweek win over Angers, as Kylian Mbappe, Sergio Ramos and Marquinhos struck at the Stade Raymond Kopa.

Marseille's 3-2 victory over Nantes means that PSG could not confirm their status as French champions on Wednesday night, but victory over Lens will see Les Parisiens regain their rightful crown.

Here, Sports Mole rounds up all of PSG's latest injury and suspension news ahead of the clash with Franck Haise's side.

Lionel Messi

Status: Major doubt Type of injury: Achilles Possible return date: April 23 (vs. Lens)

Lionel Messi did not take part in the midweek win over Angers due to an inflamed Achilles tendon, and the seven-time Ballon d'Or winner remains a major doubt for Saturday's game at the time of writing.

Presnel Kimpembe

Status: Major doubt Type of injury: Knee Possible return date: April 23 (vs. Lens)

Presnel Kimpembe was another late absentee from the trip to the Stade Raymond Kopa after complaining of knee pain, and the French centre-back is facing a race against time to be fit for Saturday.

Marco Verratti

Status: Major doubt Type of injury: Knee Possible return date: April 23 (vs. Lens)

Similarly, Marco Verratti represented PSG's third fresh absentee for the Angers trip due to knee pain, and it remains to be seen if he will recover in time for Saturday.

Julian Draxler

Status: Out Type of injury: Knee Possible return date: Unknown

Julian Draxler is on the road to recovery after undergoing surgery to treat a knee injury and is fighting an uphill battle to play again before the season ends.

Leandro Paredes

Status: Out Type of injury: Groin Possible return date: Unknown

While Draxler may have a chance of playing again this season, Leandro Paredes is out for the rest of the campaign after undergoing groin surgery.

Ander Herrera

Status: Minor doubt Type of injury: Hamstring Possible return date: April 23 (vs. Lens)

Ander Herrera is due to return to team training before Saturday's game as he battles his way back from a hamstring issue and should therefore have a good chance of making the squad here.

Abdou Diallo

Status: Out Type of injury: Knee Possible return date: Unknown

Defender Abdou Diallo is still working his way back from a knee injury, and a date for the Senegal international to return to training has not been pencilled in, so he is likely to miss out here.

Layvin Kurzawa

Status: Minor doubt Type of injury: Calf Possible return date: April 23 (vs. Lens)

Out-of-favour left-back Layvin Kurzawa should resume training on Thursday as he steps up his recovery from a calf problem and may therefore be in with a chance of making the squad this weekend.

Mauro Icardi

Status: Out Type of injury: Thigh Possible return date: Unknown

Mauro Icardi was not involved at all in the midweek win over Angers, and PSG have since revealed that the striker will miss the next two to three weeks with a thigh problem.

PSG'S SUSPENSION LIST

Edouard Michut

Return date: April 29 (vs. Strasbourg)

Teenage midfielder Edouard Michut had only been on the pitch for 20 minutes against Angers before receiving a straight red card for a poor challenge on Romain Thomas, and the 19-year-old will serve a one-game ban here.
