Sam Johnstone joins Preston North End on loan

Manchester United goalkeeper Sam Johnstone has joined Preston North End on loan for the remainder of the 2014-15 campaign.

The 21-year-old, who has been with United since 2009, has recently returned from a loan spell with Doncaster Rovers.

However, the England Under-20 international has not remained at Old Trafford for long as he prepares to join League One outfit Preston.

Johnstone has not made a single first-team appearance for United and is widely expected to depart the Premier League side on a permanent deal this summer.
