Portugal eased to an emphatic 7-0 victory over Estonia in their final friendly ahead of Euro 2016.

It was a comfortable evening for the hosts in Lisbon as Cristiano Ronaldo scored either side of Ricardo Quaresma's strike in the first half.

The one-way continued after the break as Danilo Pereira's header was followed by an own goal from Karol Mets, before Quaresma and Eder both found the back of the net to complete the triumph.

Good evening everyone! Anyone else getting excited? Yes, Euro 2016 is just a couple of days away and the preparations continue as Portugal take on Estonia in Lisbon.

Portugal will head off to France after tonight's friendly in Lisbon, so supporters, players and head coach Fernando Santos will al be hoping that injuries do not play a part this evening. A convincing win is expected, but I'm certain Santos will just want to be getting on the plane without another headache.

Portugal will kick off their Euro 2016 campaign against Iceland next Tuesday. They will also face Austria and Hungary in Group F. Are they certain to progress to the knockout stages? Or is this squad lacking the strength in depth to be a genuine threat to the biggest teams in France?

PORTUGAL: Patrício, Cédric, Pepe, Fonte, Guerreiro, Danilo, Moutinho, João Mário, André Gomes, Quaresma, Ronaldo

ESTONIA: Londak, Teniste, Baranov, Klavan, Kallaste, Mets, Dmitrijev, Antonov, Puri, Kruglov, Anier

As expected, the big news from Lisbon is that Cristiano Ronaldo returns to lead the hosts in attack. It's a stronger side than the one which lost 1-0 to England at Wembley last week, that much is obvious. Pepe also returns and there are starts for Joao Moutinho, Andre Gomes and Danilo.

It's been another long, gruelling season for Ronaldo, whose reward was a third Champions League title, but Santos is certain that his star man is ready to take centre stage once again at Euro 2016.

"He is very well physically, mentally and in terms of morale," Santos told reporters ahead of tonight's game. "You will see it in the game [on Wednesday]. He is in the same condition as any other player."

Estonia, of course, will not be making the trip to France. They won three of their 10 games in the group England won, but they were still six points short of third-placed Slovenia. Can they cause an upset just as Georgia did against Spain last night?

As always, all eyes are on this man tonight.

Portugal's recent form has certainly not been consistent. It's always difficult to predict what they will produce, despite having one of the finest players in the world leading the line. Wins against Belgium and Norway came before the defeat to England at Wembley, but they have also lost to Bulgaria this year.

LAST MEETING: These two sides have not faced off since October 2009. If you don't remember that encounter I certainly do not blame you. It was a goalless draw which ended a run of four successive defeats for Estonia against tonight's opponents.

So, just how far can Portugal go at Euro 2016? There's not much more to be said about Ronaldo, but with a supporting cast including Moutinho, Quaresma, Gomes and William Carvalho, this side should be strong enough to be a difficult match for any team in the tournament. There is so much pressure on Ronaldo, but can Portugal rally around their star to make a bid for glory?

ONE TO WATCH: Andre Gomes was in fantastic form for Valencia this season and in recent weeks he has been repeatedly linked with a move to Manchester United, but hey, who hasn't? His potential certainly does not seem to be in doubt and the midfielder has the class to dictate the tempo of a game. He should impress again tonight.

You'll remember that Portugal were on the wrong end of one of the biggest upsets in international football 12 years ago as Greece upset Luis Figo, Rui Costa and a much younger Ronaldo on the way to winning Euro 2004. Many believed that was their best chance to win a major tournament. The 'Golden Generation' are long gone, but this side will not be forgiven quickly for failure this summer.

PREDICTION: No shocks from me tonight. It should be a straightforward win for the hosts and I'm backing Portugal to cruise to the victory. 4-0 to Portugal, with Ronaldo netting a couple.

Ronaldo has scored 56 goals in 125 appearances for Portugal. He'll fancy his chances of adding to that total tonight, but he's judged on trophies. Will it be he who lifts the trophy in the summer? It would certainly add to his legendary status.

Estonia can be a difficult side to break down and perhaps the fear for Portugal is their physical approach could cause issues ahead of Euro 2016. The visitors will certainly look to sit deep and frustrate Portugal, but can they hurt the home defence on the break?

This is the venue for Portugal's opener with Iceland on Tuesday. Not bad, eh?

The players are on their way out of the tunnel in Lisbon. Just time for the anthems before tonight's action begins!

KICKOFF! Portugal get the game underway in Lisbon and they quickly settle down in possession.

Sloppy from Cedric as he loses possession on the right side of the pitch and Estonia almost get through before Pepe does well to dispossess Anier.

Portugal are starting to see more of the ball now, with Gomes involved regularly involved in the centre of midfield. Plenty of challenges flying in early on.

Patient play from the hosts as they shift the ball from left to right, but Cedric's cross is too strong for Ronaldo in the box.

Great work from Gomes at both ends as he halts a promising attack from Estonia before winning a corner for his side as Portugal continue to look the better of the two sides.

CHANCE! Estonia are fortunate to survive following a couple of corners from the home side. Quaresma finds the head of Pepe, who should do much better after losing his marker in the box.

Dmitrijev and Antonov have been very busy in midfield for the visitors, who are battling impressively despite struggling to retain possession in the early stages. Not much is sticking for them in attack.

Ronaldo eases past a couple of defenders with some clever footwork after more good work from Gomes, but Estonia get enough players back to ensure the hosts do not find a breakthrough.

Estonia lose possession to invite more pressure, but Joao Mario's initial pass is poor and Ronaldo sees his weak effort from the corner of the box charged down. Another corner is then cleared.

Clever play from Quaresma as he fakes a shot on the way to creating space, but his low strike is blocked and Estonia survive again.

Estonia relieve some of the pressure on them by winning a free kick on the left wing, but the delivery from Mets is poor and Patricio collects with ease. We're still waiting for the first clear opportunity of the evening.

Great work from Guerreiro and Mario before the latter pulls a cross back towards Moutinho, who is denied by Kallaste's block and Londak collects the loose ball.

The pattern of play is clear for everyone to see in Lisbon. Portugal dominate, Estonia retreat but the hosts are struggling to find the quality required in the final third of the pitch.

Crucial header from Klavan as he clears with Ronaldo waiting to convert from Guerreiro's cross at the back post. Estonia starting to get slightly more stretched but they clear the latest corner from Quaresma.

Portugal's crossing has not been good enough so far. Too many have been cleared by the first defender and another spell of pressure comes to an end when a cross is headed back to Gomes, whose speculative strike is blocked.

CHANCE! Portugal should be ahead. Estonia's free kick is cleared and the hosts are suddenly through with Ronaldo sprinting clear of the visiting defence. Unusually, he is unable to finish as Londak pushes his effort away before collecting the volleyed rebound from Guerreiro. It really should be 1-0.

The game was stretched for a couple of minutes, but it has settled back down and Portugal are dictating the tempo once again. Estonia have very little to offer in attack, but they have defended admirably so far.

GOAL! PORTUGAL 1-0 ESTONIA (RONALDO)

Portugal lead and it's no surprise to see Ronaldo celebrating. Quaresma is the creator as he collects the ball on the left before delivering a superb cross with the outside of his boot to give his captain the task of powering a header home at the back post. International goal number 57 for Ronaldo.

GOAL! PORTUGAL 2-0 ESTONIA (QUARESMA)

This game is now probably over. It's a magical moment from Quaresma, who collects in the box before producing an inch-perfect chip which curls over Londak on the way to finding the far corner, with Ronaldo only just failing to steal another goal for himself on the line. Stunning goal from Quaresma.

Slight concern for Portugal as Quaresma goes down after taking a blow to the head. Nani is out warming up but the Besiktas winger should be fine to continue.

Fonte hasn't been very busy so far but the Southampton defender does well to get across to make a challenge on Anier, who has been left isolated throughout the first half.

GOAL! PORTUGAL 3-0 ESTONIA (RONALDO)

Portugal are just too good as they add a third before the break. Mario does well to force a mistake before exchanging passes with Ronaldo, who continues his run into the box and gets the reward when a slightly miscued effort takes a deflection on the way past Londak. Excellent work from Mario to create the goal.

HALF TIME: PORTUGAL 3-0 ESTONIA

Portugal cruise to a 3-0 lead at the halfway stage in Lisbon. Ronaldo started the fun with a powerful free header before Quaresma executed a fantastic finish. Ronaldo added his 58th international strike to make it three goals in nine minutes for the home side, who could be eyeing a much bigger win tonight.

I'm certain Fernando Santos will change things at the break with the Iceland game just six days way. Ronaldo might be given more rest, while the likes of Moutinho, Pepe and Gomes could all make way at some point. Are there places still up for grabs in the Portugal lineup?

Estonia just haven't had the quality to hurt Pepe and Fonte, who have been comfortable for long spells. The game is beyond them so it certainly would not be a surprise to see changes from the away side at the break. They've been sloppy in possession far too often this evening.

RESTART! Estonia get the game back underway. Portugal have made a couple of changes, with Vieirinha coming on for Cedric at right-back and Nani replacing Ronaldo, who will rest up ahead of the Iceland clash.

OFF THE BAR! Patricio is a lucky, lucky boy. The goalkeeper gets caught up in the bodies while attempting to punch clear a free kick and the loose ball drops to Puri, who fires a shot again the bar with Patricio stranded.

Nani has been lively since coming at the start of the second half. He creates space with a burst of pace before finding the run of Quaresma, whose latest attempt at finding the far corner ends with him curling a shot wide.

Vieirinha will fancy his chances of putting pressure on Cedric, who lost the ball a few times in the first half. The Wolfsburg full-back threatens to boost his claims for a starting spot with a powerful half-volley from 25 yards, but the shot drifts just wide.

Portugal are in complete control as Mario, Gomes and Moutinho continue to boss the game in midfield while Nani and Quaresma carry the threat on either wing.

GOAL! PORTUGAL 4-0 ESTONIA

A good night becomes even better for Portugal as Danilo Pereira registers his first goal at international level. Quaresma grabs another assist with an inviting corner to Danilo, who capitalises on some lazy marking to power home his header.

SUBS! Time for more Portugal changes as Pepe, Moutinho and Mario come off to be replaced by Ricardo Carvalho, Renato Sanches and Eder.

GOAL! PORTUGAL 5-0 ESTONIA (METS O.G.)

It's five goals for Portugal just after the hour mark and Quaresma is the main man again. He finds the space to deliver another dangerous cross but it's poor goalkeeping from Londak, who pushes the ball against Mets before watching it roll over the line.

SUB! Estonia make their first change as Dmitrijev comes off to be replaced by Rauno Sappinen.

Another Quaresma corner threatens to cause problems when Estonia can only clear to Guerreiro, who pulls his shot wide from 25 yards.

SUB! Pavel Marin is the latest player to be sent on as Estonia remove the ineffective Kruglov.

SUBS! The changes at regular intervals could be a deliberate ploy from Magnus Pehrsson, who has now disrupted the flow of Portugal's play. Maksim Gussev comes on to replace Klavan. Moments later William Carvalho comes on for Danilo, before Estonia then send on Konstantin Vassiljev for Anier.

Nani and Quaresma are almost toying with the Estonian defenders following a short corner, before the latter delivers another teasing cross which needs to be cleared by Baranov.

Estonia continue to battle away under pressure. Guerreiro creates space on the left wing before sending a cross towards Eder, whose header never looks close to threatening the target.

GOAL! PORTUGAL 6-0 ESTONIA (QUARESMA)

There's no doubt about who has been the star player tonight and Quaresma adds a sixth goal for Portugal. The hosts break at pace through Eder, who plays an inch-perfect pass to allow Quaresma to find the bottom corner with a powerful low strike. It's another superb finish.

GOAL! PORTUGAL 7-0 ESTONIA (EDER)

Eder makes it seven in Lisbon! Estonia collapse once again as Gomes wanders in from the wing before delivering a chipped ball through a crowd of defenders to Eder, who has time to take a touch before firing home in a congested box.

SAVE! Portugal are refusing to take it easy later on as Gomes watches Londak make a fine save from his firm strike. It is one-way traffic in the closing stages.

Estonia are enjoying a late spell of possession, but it will not be a night to remember as Puri sends a speculative strike just over the crossbar from 30 yards.

CLOSE! Portugal inches away from an eighth goal as Nani wins the ball 25 yards from goal before firing his shot just over the crossbar to the relief of Londak.

Portugal are still committing men forward as they search for the eight goal as Estonia continue to chase shadows all over the pitch.

FULL TIME: PORTUGAL 7-0 ESTONIA

Matches do not come much easier at international level. Portugal breeze to the most comfortable of victories in Lisbon thanks to braces from Ronaldo and Quaresma, an own goal from Mets and further goals from Eder and Danilo.

For Portugal, it's time to make the trip to France. They begin their campaign against Iceland on Tuesday and they do so on the back of an emphatic triumph. Thanks for following our live text coverage. Goodnight everyone!
