Portsmouth have secured a valuable away win over Peterborough in the Championship to broaden the gap between themselves and the relegation zone.
A brace either side of half-time from Erik Huseklepp coupled with a Jason Pearce header gave Pompey a 3-0 win that ensures they leapfrog their opponents in the league table.
Portsmouth made a perfect start to the match when Huseklepp broke the deadlock after just five minutes. Peterborough goalkeeper Joe Lewis couldn't hold Kelvin Etuhu's header leaving Huseklepp free to sweep the ball home.
Peterborough began to settle in the game, but it was Portsmouth who had the next good chance, Liam Lawrence only being denied by a fine low save by Lewis.
Michael Appleton's men didn't have to wait long to double their lead, however, as Pearce headed in a Lawrence corner just before half time.
The second half saw few chances until Huseklepp's second goal. The Portsmouth man cut inside from the left before curling his shot past Lewis.
It was nearly 4-0 straight after too, but this time Lewis was equal to an effort from Lawrence.
