Sunday's Primeira Liga predictions including Braga vs. Porto

Sports Mole provides score predictions and previews for all of today's Primeira Liga fixtures, including Braga vs. Porto.

Casa Pia vs. Maritimo (Sunday, 3.30pm)

Casa Pia will be looking to get their ambitious European dreams back on track when they welcome relegation-threatened Maritimo to the Estadio Nacional on Sunday.

After a remarkable start to their first season back in the top flight for 83 years, the hosts have begun to slide down the table, but they will be favourites against a Maritimo side sitting six points adrift of guaranteed safety heading into the weekend.

We say: Casa Pia 1-0 Maritimo

With two of the division's lowest scorers on show, this looks likely to be a tight affair that could be decided by a single goal.

Neither team are in very good form and both would benefit hugely from a morale-boosting win, and the signs all point to that going the way of Casa Pia given Maritimo's terrible away record.

Our tipster partners are predicting under 2.5 goals.

Braga vs. Porto (Sunday, 6.00pm)

Second meets third in a tantalising Primeira Liga podium battle on Sunday evening as Braga welcome fellow title outsiders Porto to the Estadio Municipal de Braga.

The hosts put four past Vizela without reply in a romping success last weekend, while Sergio Conceicao's crop enter the contest off the back of a Champions League last-16 exit at the hands of Inter Milan.

We say: Braga 2-2 Porto

With Porto's defence not as watertight as it once was, a free-scoring Braga outfit should feel confident of chalking up a couple of goals, especially with the wise old head of Pepe potentially not being available.

However, Conceicao's side could have easily racked up a few themselves against Inter on another day and can also exploit the hosts' inexperienced centre-back pairing, so Sunday's podium battle should live up to the billing in a high-scoring draw.

Our tipster partners are predicting under 2.5 goals.

Boavista vs. Famalicao (Sunday, 8.30pm)

Boavista could supplant Famalicao in the Primeira Liga table when they play host to Fama at Estadio do Bessa on Sunday.

The Panthers were defeated 3-0 at Sporting Lisbon last weekend, while this weekend's visitors secured a slender 1-0 triumph over out-of-form Casa Pia.

We say: Boavista 1-1 Famalicao

Despite Boavista's inability to score goals in recent matches — the Panthers have not netted in three of the last five league games — this game has often produced goals since their first meeting in January 2020.

Famalicao won the corresponding fixture last season, but their ongoing misery on the road suggests a similar result may be unlikely, so a draw with both teams scoring could be on the cards.

Our tipster partners are predicting under 2.5 goals.
