Alan Gordon strike denies Portland Timbers

Alan Gordon's stoppage-time strike has rescued a point for Los Angeles Galaxy away to Portland Timbers.

Fanendo Adi had given the Oregon outfit the lead just after the half-hour mark when he turned Rodney Wallace's pinpoint ball beyond the reach of keeper Brian Rowe.

Gyasi Zardes equalised for the defending MLS champions midway through the second half after beating Adam Kwarasey to Jose Villarreal's cross before tucking home from close range.

Portland thought they had snatched a 90th-minute victory when Adi netted his second of the game, following neat build-up play from Darlington Nagbe and Liam Ridgewell.

However, Gordon's goal in the 92nd minute meant that the Timbers were forced to settle for a point.
