Two teams who have made less than ideal starts to their respective Major League Soccer campaigns lock horns on Saturday as Portland Timbers play host to Los Angeles Galaxy.
The home side are currently on a run of three straight defeats, while their visitors make the trip to Providence Park still in search of their first win this term.
We say: Portland Timbers 2-1 Los Angeles Galaxy
Portland Timbers were beaten in their last home encounter but have not suffered back to back defeats on home turf in almost two years, which certainly makes for good reading. We are backing the hosts to narrowly get the job done in what should be an open and end-to-end affair.

Charlotte FC vs. NY Red Bulls (Saturday, 11.30pm)

Round five of the 2023 Major League Soccer campaign sees Charlotte FC entertain the challenge of New York Red Bulls at the Bank of America Stadium on Sunday.
Off the back of a first win of the season for both teams last time out, they will head into this weekend's clash with the wind in their respective sails.
We say: Charlotte FC 1-1 New York Red Bulls
Charlotte and New York Red Bulls boast similar attacking records across their opening four games, and we are backing both of them to get on the scoresheet here. That said, we can also see the sides cancelling each other out to settle for a point apiece in the end.

Columbus Crew vs. Atlanta (Saturday, 11.30pm)
© Reuters
Two teams at opposite ends of the Major League Soccer Eastern Conference will meet on Saturday as Columbus Crew host the current league leaders Atlanta United.
While the visitors have been dominant throughout this season so far, the Crew are aiming to get back to winning ways after consecutive matches without three points.
We say: Columbus Crew 0-2 Atlanta United
Columbus Crew might be undefeated at home this season, but Atlanta United have started the campaign in an impressive manner and their attacking qualities could be too much for their opponents.

DC United vs. New England (Saturday, 11.30pm)

After three matches without a victory DC United will be aiming to get their season back on track this Saturday when they host New England Revolution.
The visitors currently sit second in the Major League Soccer Eastern Conference having only lost a single match this season.
We say: DC United 0-2 New England Revolution
DC United are unlikely to change their recent poor run of form as New England Revolution should have enough quality to pick up three points this weekend.

Inter Miami vs. Chicago Fire (Saturday, 11.30pm)

Seeking to pick up their first win of the new MLS campaign, Chicago Fire take a trip to the DRV PNK Stadium to go head to head with Inter Miami on Saturday night.
The Herons, on the other hand, will head into the weekend looking to snap their two-game losing streak and make it three wins from three home matches this season.
We say: Inter Miami 2-1 Chicago Fire
While Chicago Fire will be looking to get up and running, they face an Inter Miami side who have often shown resilience on their home turf. While the Herons have struggled for form in recent weeks, we see them prevailing against the floundering Chicago Fire side.

Philadelphia vs. Orlando City (Saturday, 11.30pm)

Philadelphia Union will be looking to make it three wins from three home games in the new Major League Soccer campaign when they play host to Orlando City at Subaru Park on Saturday.
The Lions, on the other hand, head into the weekend without a win away from home since last August's 2-1 victory at Charlotte FC and will be looking to end this dry spell.
We say: Philadelphia Union 2-0 Orlando City
Philadelphia Union are near impenetrable on home turf and we expect Curtin's side to turn-up at Subaru Park once again. Orlando City are currently struggling to find their footing so we fancy a slender victory for the home side in this one.

Austin vs. Colorado (Sunday, 12.30am)

Having seen their two-game winning streak nipped in the bud last time out, Austin FC prepare for the visit of Colorado Rapids to the Q2 Stadium on Sunday.
Meanwhile, the away side make the trip to Texas aiming to pick up their first win of the new Major League Soccer season at the fifth time of asking.
We say: Austin FC 2-0 Colorado Rapids
Given their recent struggles at both ends of the pitch, it is hard to see Colorado Rapids coming away with a positive result from this one, and coupled with Austin's formidable home record, we are tipping the hosts to secure the three points come the end of the 90 minutes.

Houston vs. NY City (Sunday, 12.30am)

Fresh off the back of picking up their first win of the new MLS campaign, Houston Dynamo go head to head with New York City FC at the Shell Energy Stadium on Saturday evening.
While the Pigeons have won each of their last two outings, they will head into the weekend looking to pick up their first away victory this season having failed in their previous two attempts.
We say: Houston Dynamo 1-2 New York City FC
While Houston will be looking to build on last weekend's result and put together a fine run of form, they go up against a New York City FC side who appear to have finally hit their stride. The Pigeons put three goals past DC United last time out and we are backing them to pick up where they dropped off by claiming all three points.

Kansas vs. Seattle (Sunday, 12.30am)
© Reuters
The MLS season continues at the weekend as Sporting Kansas City welcome Seattle Sounders to Children's Mercy Park in the early hours of Sunday morning.
The hosts find themselves second from bottom in the Western Conference table whilst their visitors are third coming into the match.
We say: Sporting Kansas City 0-2 Seattle Sounders
Seattle will be confident of ending their winless run away from home against a Kansas side that have come out of the blocks in the new campaign very slowly. Lodeiro, Morris and Ruidiaz will cause the hosts problems as the visitors look to continue their fine start to the season.

Minnesota Utd vs. Vancouver (Sunday, 12.30am)
© Reuters
On Saturday, the Vancouver Whitecaps will visit Allianz Field for the first time in the 2023 MLS campaign to take on Minnesota United, the team that ended their playoff hopes a year ago.
So far this season, the Loons have yet to lose, coming back to defeat the Colorado Rapids 2-1 last weekend while the Caps continue to search for their first win of the year, playing to a 1-1 draw versus the Los Angeles Galaxy a week ago.
We say: Minnesota United 1-1 Vancouver Whitecaps
The Loons have done well despite missing their best player, but we believe they will have difficulty controlling this match with so many regulars unavailable due to the international window.
As for Vancouver, it could be the same old story, as they have looked solid through stretches of their games this season but have not proven they can find another gear and take control of a game when the opportunities arise.

Nashville vs. Cincinnati (Sunday, 12.30am)
© Reuters
The MLS season continues at the weekend as Nashville SC welcome FC Cincinnati to Geodis Park in the early hours of Sunday morning.
Both of these sides are sitting pretty in the Eastern Conference table with the hosts in fourth and their visitors just ahead of them in third coming into the match.
We say: Nashville SC 1-2 FC Cincinnati
This should be a closely fought clash as both these teams are in good form and are next to each other in the table, but Cincinnati have considerable firepower upfront with Vazquez and Brenner leading the line, and Noonan's side may just edge the contest due to this attacking quality.

Salt Lake vs. St Louis City (Sunday, 2.30am)
© Reuters
The early darlings of the Major League Soccer campaign, St Louis City, will pay their first-ever visit to Rio Tinto Stadium on Saturday for a match against Real Salt Lake.
A 3-0 win over the San Jose Earthquakes enabled St Louis to become the first expansion team in league history to win its first four matches, while RSL have dropped two in a row, falling 2-1 at home to Austin FC two weeks ago.
We say: Real Salt Lake 1-0 St Louis City
All good things must come to an end, and we believe that the climate in Salt Lake City will make it difficult for the visitors to press as often as they like.
RSL should be well rested and might find it a little easier to get through a solid backline who are missing another key centre-back in Hiebert.

Los Angeles vs. Dallas (Sunday, 3.30am)
© Reuters
Dallas will head to BMO Stadium on Saturday in search of their first-ever road victory against Los Angeles FC in Major League Soccer.
The reigning MLS Cup champions have not conceded in back-to-back league fixtures, playing the Seattle Sounders to a 0-0 draw last weekend, as LA and Dallas are currently on three-game unbeaten runs, with the Toros edging Sporting Kansas City 2-1.
We say: Los Angeles FC 2-1 Dallas
The Black and Gold will be without some key attacking weapons, but fortunately, there is plenty of depth for them to count upon up top, plus we believe their ability to push the pace down the wings will make life difficult for the Toros.

Earthquakes vs. Toronto (Sunday, 3.30am)
© Reuters
Fresh from their first victory of the MLS campaign a week ago, Toronto can claim their first-ever triumph at PayPal Park when they visit the San Jose Earthquakes on Saturday.
The Quakes dropped their second road contest last weekend, 3-0 at St Louis City SC, while the Reds blanked Inter Miami 2-0.
We say: San Jose Earthquakes 2-0 Toronto
Toronto seem to have a dependable centre-back pairing, but there does not appear to be much depth across the board, and that could present a problem this weekend with some key midfielders being away for the international break.
We expect the Quakes to have a decided edge in the midfield and create enough scoring chances to eventually come out on top.
