Four arrested before Poland-Ukraine match

Four people have been arrested following clashes between Poland and Ukraine fans in Marseille ahead of their final Euro 2016 Group C match on Tuesday.

French police used gas, pepper spray and batons to break up fighting between the two sets of supporters in the Vieux-Port area of the city, which also saw clashes between England and Russia fans.

According to the Daily Sabah, Poland supporters gathered in the district before heading towards the Stade Velodrome, behind a huge banner reading "Defenders of European Culture".

Around 1,000 police and 200 private security agents were deployed by Marseille authorities for the match.
