John Sheridan is reportedly nearing a move to become the next manager of Plymouth Argyle.

The League Two club sacked Carl Fletcher on New Year's Day with the team two points above the relegation zone.

Sheridan, 48, could now return to management following an interview at Home Park, according to Sky Sports News.

The former midfielder was sacked as boss of Chesterfield at the start of the season following a three-year spell with the Spireites.
