Half-Time Report: James Constable ends goal drought to fire Oxford United ahead at Bristol Rovers

Constable ends goal drought to fire Oxford ahead

James Constable's first goal in 12 games has given Oxford United a 1-0 half-time lead at Bristol Rovers.

The 29-year-old, who has scored more than 100 goals for the U's, hit the net on 10 minutes.

Dave Kitson crossed from the left to Deane Smalley, who teed up Constable to fire home.

Rovers briefly thought that they had levelled the game on the half-hour, but John O'Toole's headed effort was ruled out for offside.

Oxford, who started the day third in the League Two table, are the only team in the Football League that have yet to lose an away game this season.
