Osasuna hold Real Sociedad to a goalless draw at home in this evening's La Liga encounter.

Osasuna have held Real Sociedad to a goalless draw at home in La Liga this evening.

The result means that the Osasuna remain just four points above the relegation zone, while Sociedad miss the chance to consolidate a Champions League place.

The away side started well and within five minutes they could have been ahead; however, Andres was equal to Antoine Griezmann's snapshot from just inside the box.

Emiliano Armenteros missed with a couple of long-range efforts for the home side, before Xabi Prieto was denied by Andres from the edge of the box midway through the half.

Sociedad came close just after that when Imanol Agirretxe headed against the post following a corner.

Osasuna almost took the lead shortly before half time, but Miguel de las Cuevas's effort from just inside the box was tipped wide by Claudio Bravo.

In the second period, Osasuna began to dominate possession without really threatening the goal and it was actually the away side who almost broke the deadlock.

Xabi Prieto produced a clever turn to find space on the edge of the box, but was again denied by Andres.

Despite an end-to-end finish, neither team could find the all-important goal and had to share the points.
