Eric Abidal bound for Olympiacos?

Former Barcelona defender Eric Abidal is reportedly on the verge of securing a switch to Olympiacos.

The 34-year-old only recently agreed a new 12-month contract with his current club Monaco.

However, following discussions with his compatriot Christian Karembeu, who is the technical director of Olympiacos, Abidal has accepted an offer to move to Greece, according to numerous reports in the Southern European country.

The speculation has also suggested that Abidal has already arrived in Athens for a medical, with a two-year deal expected to be signed.
