Birmingham City ease to 4-0 victory over Notts County

Birmingham City outclass Notts County with an emphatic 4-0 win at Meadow Lane in their pre-season friendly this evening.

A brace from Clayton Donaldson and a goal apiece from Andrew Shinnie and Jonathan Grounds handed Birmingham City a comfortable 4-0 win over Notts County in their pre-season friendly at Meadow Lane this evening.

Donaldson opened the scoring on 13 minutes when he reacted quickest to a goalmouth scramble following a Birmingham corner, smashing the loose ball home from just a yard out.

The visitors doubled their lead just a minute later when Shinnie controlled Reece Brown's smart pass and fired a powerful volley beyond Fabian Spiess in the Notts County goal.

Donaldson's second of the night came on 55 minutes when he pounced on a loose back-pass and rounded Spiess before calmly slotting home.

Grounds rounded off the win with a powerful header from Mark Duffy's corner in the final minute.
