Notts County striker Lee Hughes charged with sexual assault

Notts County frontman Lee Hughes has been charged by police with sexual assault.

The charge in question relates back to an incident last month involving the 35-year-old forward and a woman in a hotel in Croydon.

It is alleged that the striker inappropriately put his hands up the woman's dress while the League One side were staying in the hotel.

The club released a statement confirming the police charge and claimed that they will not comment further on the issue.
