Shaun Derry "absolutely delighted" with first win as Notts County boss

Shaun Derry says that he is "delighted" after getting his first win as Notts County boss and wants his players to push on.

Shaun Derry has revealed that he is "absolutely delighted" after a 3-1 victory against Gillingham secured his first win as Notts County manager.

The Magpies went ahead through Callum McGregor, but the visitors equalised when Bradley Dack scored straight after half time.

However, a further strike from McGregor and a late Jack Grealish goal were enough to see the hosts win only their fourth league game of the season.

"I'm absolutely delighted, obviously. We have raised the bar these past two weeks in particular with our performances and not got anything out of the games. Today, we fully deserved the three points," he told BBC Sport.

"What we have to do now is crack on, take it into next week's game, then it into the week after that. It can't just be one day - it has to be every single day. That is what I'm striving for."

Notts County are now three points adrift of safety at the bottom of League One.
