Nottingham Forest squeeze past spirited Yeovil Town

Nottingham Forest secure another home win in the Championship with a 3-1 victory against Yeovil Town.

Nottingham Forest have secured a hard-fought 3-1 home win against Yeovil Town in the Championship.

Forest were the stronger team in the early stages, with Jamie Paterson having a shot blocked, before Andy Reid fired wide of the target.

Kieffer Moore had a rare attack for the away side following sloppy play by Forest, but he could only drag his effort wide.

The home side got the goal that their start deserved with 16 minutes played. Paterson collected the ball behind the Yeovil defence and saw his shot hit Byron Webster on its way in.

However, Gary Johnson's men responded well with James Hayter forcing Karl Darlow to save. They grabbed the equaliser four minutes later when Moore connected with Jamie McAllister's cross to nod home.

Despite an improvement by Yeovil, Forest went 2-1 ahead before half time. Jamie Mackie pulled the ball back across goal, and Simon Cox was there to tap in.

Stech produced a good save down low to his right to turn Henri Lansbury's shot round the post in the opening stages of the second half.

Paterson then hit the post with an effort from inside the penalty area as the hosts began to turn the screw.

The Glovers tried hard to find an equaliser as Joe Edwards's curling effort was well saved by Darlow. However, Forest wrapped up the win when Rafik Djebbour scored a debut goal deep into stoppage time.
