Dougie Freedman relishing "big challenge" at Nottingham Forest

Nottingham Forest boss Dougie Freedman says that he 'loves' the challenge of managing the club, despite failing to win any of his last six games in charge.

Dougie Freedman has admitted that Nottingham Forest's recent winless run has left him with a "big challenge" on his hands.

The Reds have slipped from playoff contenders down to mid-table obscurity after a streak of six games without success.

Pressure has continued to grow on Freedman following a disappointing end to last season, but he insists that he is relishing the task of turning around the club's fortunes.

"It is a big challenge with all that is going around at this football club," he told BBC Sport. "But I think we are on the right path. From off the field, putting the embargo correct, and on the field with one or two young players coming through the ranks.

"We play good football. I think the only thing missing is a little bit of good fortune and a couple of results will go our way very soon.

"If I don't like it, I can walk away tomorrow morning, but I love it. I love going toe-to-toe with people like Mick McCarthy and standing up to a challenge."

Forest find themselves 10 points off the top six and four points adrift of the relegation zone ahead of their trip to face Sheffield Wednesday next weekend.
