Snodgrass: 'Shaw too young for World Cup'

Norwich City winger Robert Snodgrass believes that Luke Shaw is too young to be in the England squad for the World Cup later this year.

The 18-year-old made his debut for the Three Lions in their friendly game against Denmark last month, but Snodgrass feels that Roy Hodgson would be better off taking the experienced Ashley Cole and Leighton Baines in Shaw's place.

"It's a tough question, but I would not take him on the plane to Brazil if I was picking the England squad," the Scot told The Mirror.

"Leighton Baines will obviously go on current form and my second choice would be Ashley Cole, because of his experience. Shaw is a bit too young and I just think that this World Cup has come a little too soon for him. He still has a lot to learn."

Norwich and Snodgrass face Shaw's Southampton side on Saturday.
