Martin Olsson: 'Norwich City priced me out of Swansea City switch'

Norwich City full-back Martin Olsson reveals that Swansea City were priced out of a January move by the Canaries.

Left-back Martin Olsson has claimed that Norwich City's asking price was too dear for Swansea City in the January transfer window.

Swansea were interested in signing the Swede, but had a reported £3m bid knocked back by the Canaries.

They weren't the only Premier League club interested in the 26-year-old, with West Bromwich Albion also keen on signing him.

The Baggies were close to agreeing a move after meeting the Norfolk club's demands, but failed to get it through in time because Olsson was reportedly held up in adverse weather conditions.

Speaking about the interest in him, Olsson told the South Wales Evening Post: "West Bromwich had no problems with [the fee], Swansea had a little problem.

"It was very turbulent, but that is how the window is. Everything went so fast and it was only a few hours left. It did not feel right, now it feels good to be left behind.

"Although West Bromwich and Swansea is good clubs I'm just happy that they were interested. Now I'm back in Norwich I focus on Norwich and going up to the Premier League with them."

With seven games of the Championship season to go, Norwich are fourth in the table, three points behind leaders Bournemouth.
