Paul Lambert says that Grant Holt is focused on the rest of the season with Norwich City despite January transfer interest from Rangers.

Norwich City manager Paul Lambert has claimed that Rangers' valuation of striker Grant Holt was "nowhere near" the correct estimate.

It emerged on deadline day that the Scottish outfit had lodged a failed bid for the 30-year-old following the departure of Nikica Jelavic to Everton.

"I spoke to Ally McCoist on Tuesday and obviously Rangers put a bid in which was nowhere near Grant's valuation anyway in my view, plus I wouldn't let him go," said Lambert.

"Grant is fine. I spoke to him about it and told him what was going on and he was fine with it. He seems to be okay but it's my duty to keep him informed over what had happened.

"He's the club captain and he has done terrifically well and the Rangers offer was there but as I said the valuation was nowhere near what I thought it should be but more importantly I wouldn't let him go anyway."

The Canaries suffered a blow in their Premier League campaign when they lost 3-0 to Sunderland last night.
