Saturday's Championship predictions including Norwich vs. Wigan

Sports Mole provides score predictions and previews for all of today's Championship fixtures, including Norwich City vs. Wigan Athletic.

Norwich City will aim to pick up their first points of the season when they play host to newly promoted Wigan Athletic on Saturday.

The Canaries fell to a narrow defeat against Cardiff City in their opening game, while Wigan played out a goalless draw with Preston North End.

We say: Norwich City 2-1 Wigan Athletic

Although they would have been disappointed with the result against Cardiff, we think the hosts will utilise home advantage for the first time this season to edge out Wigan on Saturday.

Our tipster partners are predicting under 3.5 goals.

Bristol City vs. Sunderland (Saturday, 3.00pm)

Bristol City and Sunderland square off in the Championship on Saturday afternoon looking to bounce back from disappointing starts to the season.

A day after the Robins had let slip a lead to lose at Hull City, Sunderland did the same to only draw at home with Coventry City.

We say: Bristol City 1-1 Sunderland

With a competitive under their belts, both teams will feel confident of retaining their concentration for longer than they did last week. Nevertheless, with that in mind, we can only see a low-scoring draw between two evenly-matched sides.

Our tipster partners are predicting over 1.5 goals.

Burnley vs. Luton (Saturday, 3.00pm)

After beginning his tenure as Burnley boss with a win, Vincent Kompany will look to guide his team to consecutive victories when they welcome Luton Town to Turf Moor.

The visitors, meanwhile, are searching for their first victory of the season after playing out a goalless draw against Birmingham City in their season opener.

We say: Burnley 2-0 Luton Town

Burnley impressed in their first game of the season, and we think Kompany's side will have enough quality to beat Luton on Saturday, which would ensure the Clarets begin the campaign with consecutive victories.

Our tipster partners are predicting over 1.5 goals.

Preston vs. Hull City (Saturday, 3.00pm)

After new-look Hull City stole three points with a last-gasp winner on the opening day, their Championship campaign continues on Saturday afternoon, with a trip to Preston North End.

The Tigers travel to Deepdale on the back of a 2-1 victory over Bristol City, while their hosts were held to a goalless draw by local rivals Wigan.

We say: Preston North End 1-1 Hull City

Hull overcame an unimpressive pre-season to take maximum points on the Championship's opening weekend, but did so only by the skin of their teeth.

As Preston tend to be tough to beat at Deepdale, given they suffered just four home defeats last season, they can grind out another point on this occasion.

Our tipster partners are predicting over 1.5 goals.

QPR vs. Middlesbrough (Saturday, 3.00pm)

Queens Park Rangers will try to pick up their first points of the season, when they play host to Middlesbrough on Saturday.

The hosts began their campaign with a 1-0 defeat to Blackburn Rovers, while Boro drew 1-1 against West Bromwich Albion.

We say: Queens Park Rangers 1-1 Middlesbrough

QPR are unbeaten in their last six league meetings with Middlesbrough, and we think the hosts will extend that run by playing out a draw on Saturday.

Our tipster partners are predicting over 1.5 goals.

Reading vs. Cardiff (Saturday, 3.00pm)

Cardiff City square off against Reading on Saturday afternoon looking to build on their excellent 1-0 victory against Championship promotion favourites Norwich City.

At the same time that the Bluebirds were getting off to the perfect start, the Royals were succumbing to a 1-0 defeat at the hands of Blackpool.

We say: Reading 1-2 Cardiff City

Back on home territory, Reading will be confident of getting back on track against opponents who may have over-performed last weekend. Nevertheless, Cardiff's belief will be higher, and we can see the visitors departing Berkshire with another three points to their name.

Our tipster partners are predicting over 1.5 goals.

Sheff Utd vs. Millwall (Saturday, 3.00pm)

Looking to put their first points of the new Championship season on the board, Sheffield United will welcome Millwall to Bramall Lane on Saturday.

The Blades fell short in their season-opener away at newly-relegated Watford, while their visitors kicked off with a home victory over Stoke City last weekend before being dumped out of the EFL Cup on Tuesday.

We say: Sheffield United 1-1 Millwall

The hosts will certainly be going all out for three points, and, despite their injury issues, they still have the tools to hurt most Championship sides, but Millwall may continue to be a thorn in the side of the Blades.

Rowett should be encouraged by his side's opening-day win, and we see the visitors being tough to beat and ultimately returning home with a share of the spoils.

Our tipster partners are predicting over 1.5 goals.

Stoke vs. Blackpool (Saturday, 3.00pm)

After beating Reading last weekend, Blackpool will bid to open their campaign with consecutive victories when they travel to the Bet365 Stadium to face Stoke City on Saturday.

The hosts, meanwhile, will attempt to clinch their first points of the season after falling to a 2-0 defeat to Millwall on the opening weekend of the season.

We say: Stoke City 1-1 Blackpool

No side drew more away games in the Championship than Blackpool last season, and we think they will continue that trend in their first away match of the season by playing out a draw with Stoke.

Our tipster partners are predicting over 1.5 goals.
