Jonny Evans: 'Consistency is key for Northern Ireland'

Northern Ireland captain Jonny Evans believes that the consistency in the squad has been the key to success for the team during qualifying for the European Championships.

Northern Ireland captain Jonny Evans believes that the consistency in the squad has been key to their success so far in qualifying for Euro 2016.

Michael O'Neill's side picked up a vital 3-1 win against the Faroe Islands yesterday that saw them climb to the top of Group I, and within a win of reaching the European Championships for the first time in their history.

The 27-year-old told Sky Sports News: "I think we've had great consistency in the squad, the performances have been excellent and the manager has got that spot on.

"We've still got quite a long way to go, I know we are one victory away but it's a big, tough game against Hungary and there is a lot of incentive for them also."

The Irish will take on Hungary in Belfast on Monday.
