Team News: Argentina drop Sergio Aguero, Willy Caballero for group decider

Argentina drop Aguero, Caballero

Argentina have axed Premier League stars Sergio Aguero and Willy Caballero for their vital World Cup group clash with Nigeria.

Manager Jorge Sampaoli has made five changes for the must-win game and set out a 4-4-2 stall.

Debutant Franco Armani replaces Caballero between the sticks as he pays the price for his blunder during the 3-0 defeat to Croatia.

Gonzalo Higuain comes in up front for Aguero, while Angel Di Maria and Marcos Rojo also make the starting XI.

Nigeria, meanwhile, are unchanged from their 2-0 win over Iceland last time out.

Kenneth Omeruo has retained his place at the back while Kelechi Iheanacho of Leicester City will lead the Super Eagles' attack.

Ahmed Musa, who impressed against Iceland, starts ahead of Shehu Abdullahi for a second game running.

Nigeria: Uzoho; Idowu, Balogun, Troost-Ekong, Omeruo; Etebo, Ndidi; Moses, Mikel, Musa; Iheanacho Subs: Ezenwa, Akpeyi, Echiejile, Ighalo, Shehu, Nwankwo, Obi, Onazi, Iwobi, Ogu, Awaziem, Ebuehi
