Nice draw blank against Lille

Nice and Lille struggle to create any clear goalscoring chances as their Ligue 1 meeting ends in a draw.

Nice have been unable to improve upon their strong start to the Ligue 1 season after being held to a goalless draw by Lille this afternoon.

Eric Bautheac fired over the bar and Mounir Obbadi placed his effort wide of the target, as the visitors showed more threat in the early stages.

Nice soon began to take control with Hatem Ben Arfa seeing a shot deflect wide and Nampalys Mendy also missing the target.

After the break, Renato Civelli headed over when well-placed from a corner, before Ben Arfa was denied by Vincent Enyeama.

Ben Arfa appeared to be the most likely player on the pitch to make the breakthrough, but Enyeama was alert to save another of his long-range attempts.

The hosts continued to press for a late winner, but they could not find a way through their opponents' defence as the game finished on level terms.
