Rene Howe has left Newport County by mutual consent due to personal reasons.
The 28-year-old striker made 30 appearances for the League Two club following his arrival in January 2014.
Howe recently revealed that his wife is seriously ill in hospital.
Newport are back in action on Friday when they travel to Accrington Stanley in the league.
