Ryan Taylor eyes fresh Newcastle United contract

Midfielder Ryan Taylor is hoping to do enough to earn himself a new contract with Newcastle United.

Ryan Taylor has expressed his desire to sign a new deal with Newcastle United.

The 30-year-old, who has suffered from a number of injuries since he arrived on Tyneside in 2009 from Wigan Athletic, will be out of contract in the summer.

However, having recently returned to action, the midfielder has now turned his attention to extending his stay at St James' Park.

"I've got to try to earn a new contract, which is always in the back of my mind," Taylor told BBC Newcastle.

"I'm 30 years old now and I just want to enjoy my football again."

Taylor has made four appearances in all competitions this season.
