Steve McClaren: 'No players leaving Newcastle United'

Newcastle United boss Steve McClaren reveals that he expects to keep all of his players before deadline day.

Newcastle United boss Steve McClaren has revealed that he is not expecting any departures from the club before transfer deadline day.

The Magpies have signed five new players over the summer at a cost of nearly £49m.

Seven players have left Newcastle in that time, but McClaren is hopeful that all of the club's key names will remain at St James' Park.

"There's a great determination from the club, to reiterate from two weeks ago, that we don't need to sell, we don't have to sell, we don't want to sell. We don't want to lose any of our best players," he is quoted as saying by Eurosport.

Newcastle are back in action tomorrow when they host Arsenal in the Premier League.
