Newcastle United alerted to availability of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang

Report: Newcastle back in for Aubameyang

Newcastle United could be ready to reignite their interest in Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, according to reports.

Newcastle chairman Mike Ashley has been alerted to the availability of the Borussia Dortmund striker, and a deal could be on the cards if a price can be agreed between the two clubs.

Reports in France have suggested that the former Ligue 1 star will be shown the door this summer, and Newcastle are known to be admirers, with Ashley even scouting him personally while the player was still at Saint-Etienne, The Chronicle reports.

Newcastle's attempts to bring in a first-team striker this summer have so far been unsuccessful, and capturing the Gabonese frontman could go some way to taking the pressure off the board and manager Alan Pardew.

Ayoze Perez and Jack Colback have already signed for Newcastle in the current transfer window.
