Report: Arsenal preparing Cheick Tiote move

Arsenal are reportedly preparing an £8m move for Newcastle United midfielder Cheick Tiote.

The Ivorian was the subject of interest from a number of clubs last summer, with the Magpies believed to be quoting £30m for the central midfielder.

However, Tiote struggled with injuries last season and as a result, his transfer value has now dipped.

According to The Mirror, the Gunners will open with an £8m offer this week.

The 28-year-old joined Newcastle from Twente in 2010.
