Newcastle United manager Alan Pardew reveals that he would like to bring in three new players in the January transfer window to help strengthen his squad.

Newcastle United boss Alan Pardew has revealed that he will be asking the owner for three new signings in the January transfer window.

Pardew is looking to strengthen his squad after a dismal start to the Premier League season.

The 51-year-old believes his side did not buy enough players in the summer and is hoping that owner Mike Ashley and managing director Derek Llamblas will back him in the transfer market.

"I need a couple of players in this group, and maybe even three," said Pardew.

"Whether we can get them here, on a financial front, remains to be seen."

The Magpies have lost six of their last seven games in the league.
