Newcastle United watch French youngster

Newcastle United manager Alan Pardew has sent his scouts to watch Guingamp's Anthony Knockaert, according to L'Equipe.

Scouts watched the 20-year-old feature in a French Cup match against Le Mans yesterday evening.

Despite not finding the net, the reports on Knockaert's performance have reportedly been positive.

The striker has scored four goals for the French under-20 side.
