Newcastle United are understood to want talks with Demba Ba in a bid to clear up the striker's future at the club.

The Senegalese forward has been the subject of intense transfer speculation after it was reported that he has an £7m buy-out clause in his current deal at the Sports Direct Arena.

Magpies boss Alan Pardew now wants to sit down with the 27-year-old to discuss his plans, according to The Metro.

Ba scored 16 goals in 34 games for Newcastle last season following his free transfer from West Ham United.
