Transfer news and rumours today: Newcastle United eye Alexander Sorloth, Al-Ittihad make offer for Real Madrid target

Newcastle eye Sorloth, Al-Ittihad make offer for Real Madrid target: Latest transfer news and rumours today

Newcastle United are reportedly interested in signing Atletico Madrid forward Alexander Sorloth before this summer's transfer window closes for business.

The Magpies remain without the services of Alexander Isak, who continues to push for a move to Liverpool, and the club are expected to sign two new strikers before the transfer deadline.

According to Fichajes, Sorloth is firmly on the club's radar, and Atletico are believed to be willing to let him leave for a fee in the region of €35m (£30m).

The report claims that Tottenham Hotspur and Napoli are also interested in the Norway international, who has scored 25 goals and registered two assists in 55 appearances for Atletico since arriving from Real Sociedad.

Sorloth has experience of playing in England, having turned out for Crystal Palace on 20 occasions earlier in his career, but an unsuccessful spell saw him score just once.

The centre-forward was on the scoresheet in Atletico's La Liga clash with Elche on Saturday.

Al-Ittihad 'make approach' for Real Madrid-linked Mora

Meanwhile, Al-Ittihad are reportedly in talks over a deal for Porto forward Rodrigo Mora.

The 18-year-old had an excellent 2024-25 campaign in Portugal's top flight, scoring 10 goals and registering four assists in 23 appearances, and he is believed to be on the radar of a number of major European clubs.

Real Madrid are said to be admirers of the versatile forward, who has a €70m (£61m) release clause in his contract with Porto.

However, according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, a big-money move to Saudi Arabia could be on the cards, with Al-Ittihad making an approach for his services.

Romano claims that talks are underway between the Saudi Pro League outfit and Mora's agent, with a deal believed to be a serious possibility before the transfer window closes.

Mora also scored once in three appearances for Porto at the recent Club World Cup, and he is capable of operating in a number of different positions in the final third of the field.

Pereira 'set to leave' Fulham before end of transfer window

Elsewhere, Fulham are reportedly planning to sell Andreas Pereira before the end of the summer transfer window, with a move to Brazil on the cards.

The 29-year-old has scored 10 goals and registered 22 assists in 119 appearances for Fulham since making the switch to Craven Cottage during the summer of 2022.

Pereira featured on 37 occasions for his London club during the 2024-25 campaign, but his contract is due to expire next year, and there has been speculation surrounding his future this summer.

According to The Times, Palmeiras are currently leading the race for the attacker, and Manchester United would be in line for a pay-out if he does leave, with the Red Devils having a sell-on clause.

The report claims that the 20-time English champions will receive 20% of any profit made by Fulham.

Pereira is unlikely to be involved in Fulham's Premier League clash with Man United on Sunday afternoon.
